Bio:
Sheila Nickerson, a former Poet Laureate of Alaska, lives in Bellingham, Washington. Her poems have been widely published in magazines, chapbooks, and anthologies and received two Pushcart Prizes. Her nonfiction work includes Disappearance: A Map; Midnight to the North: The Untold Story of the Inuit Woman Who Saved the Polaris Expedition; and Harnessed to the Pole: Sledge Dogs in Service to American Explorers of the Arctic, 1853 – 1909.
