Joyce Carol Oates is the author of short stories, poetry, plays, nonfiction, and more than 40 novels.  She is the recipient of numerous literary awards, including the National Book Award, and is Professor of Creative Writing (emerita) at Princeton University.  Her short story, “A Girl at the Edge of the Ocean,” was first published in The Falcon.
