Bio:
Joe David Bellamy (1941-2014) was a founding editor of The Falcon. A professor of English at Mansfield State College in the early 1970s, Bellamy subsequently taught at St. Lawrence University, where he founded the journal Fiction International. A widely published writer and well-known editor, Bellamy served as president of the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP), president of the Coordinating Council of Literary Magazines (CCLM), and director of Literature Program at the National Endowment for the Arts. A chapter in his book Literary Luxuries: American Writing at the End of the Millennium (1995) recounts his involvement with The Falcon.
