Bio:

Alice Lotvin Birney was an associate professor of English at Mansfield State College, 1968-69, and also taught at the University of California, San Diego.  She has published three books: Satiric Catharsis in Shakespeare: A Theory of Dramatic Structure (1973); The Literary Lives of Jesus: An International Bibliography of Poetry, Drama, Fiction and Criticism (1989); and Holland Point (Images of America), 2008.   She is the literary specialist in the Manuscript Division at the Library of Congress.
